I adore vests, I think they can add a lot to your look. Not only are they effortlessly chic, they also help to elongate you, aka make you look taller (which for girls my height love). I’ve paired it here with rust coloured pants and a dark floral blouse.The pants helped to pull the colours in the blouse and since it has a black base it really flows well together. I find that when you’re using dramatic clothing it’s best to keep the colour palette simple so not to take away from the overall look.

This just in: It’s winter. Today the weather forecast predicted that it would snow, and there was some snow left over from last night’s frost/snow escapade. Am I resisting quoting GOT? Yes, yes I am. But more importantly, what the heck do you where when it starts getting too cold to think? Hint: it’s what I’ve been telling you all along, knit turtlenecks! You don’t have to wear a scarf with them so that eliminates an extra layer that will hang out of your coat and get covered in snow (ie super cold and wet). It’s warm and has room under for lighter layers if you happen to go into a room with the heat on.
I’ve paired my turtleneck sweater, from Forever21, with my aritzia leather leggings and a long tee shirt under from Lululemon.
Bundle up, friends, it’s gonna get cold.
Happy Monday! I’m not sure if that’s an oxymoron or not, but I can tell you that this has been a very slow morning. Yesterday I started my day by falling down my front steps, which was about as fun as it sounds, and today I am feeling less than rested in my early morning lecture. But, George Ezra asked me to blame this on him, so I will. Thanks George for taking one for the team!
It’s cold now, but there is still a little bit of sun which makes it feel a little bit warmer out whether it actually is or isn’t. Yesterday I had such a strong urge to wear my purple riding pants and an equally strong urge to wear my green turtleneck pullover, but I didn’t think about them together. Even my boyfriend noticed “wow you’re wearing a lot of colour today”.
It’s no surprise that I prefer dark shades of grey, beige, and black over most things, but something about yesterday’s sun made me want to dress like an inverted Iris.
The pants are from American Apparel, the sweater is my mom’s, the jacket is my dad’s, and the shoes are Rod Laver for Adidas.

Hey friends! Sorry I have been so MIA I honestly have no real answer for you except that life can really get in the way of your plans and intentions sometimes. First of all my camera has been slowly dying which basically prevents me from taking photos for you guys, so I have been in the process of getting a new one (which I did this weekend when I was home). It is so frustrating working with technology that is not cooperating with you. My knees have only been getting worse so I can’t run or do a lot of things until physio clears me for it. It is really hard to be happy when your body isn’t doing what it’s supposed to, so this has been extremely difficult. Also school. School is a lot. I am in my fourth and final year of my undergrad and it’s just a lot sometimes even though I have a really light course load.
But, as I have said before, there are dangers in living below the bar. I have been trying really hard to not let this all get to me, because life goes on and things always get better if you believe they can. So I can do it, luckily my knee pain is only muscular/nerve issues, which is way better than having a joint problem, so that right there is a mini victory.
In other words, friends, I am back and I am dedicated to providing you with outfit ideas and fun tips for everyday life. No more ghosting!
November 11 has always been a somber day for me and I think for most Canadians as we remember our grandparents and great grandparents who fought in the two Great Wars of the 20th century. For me, I was always taught about the battles, the trenches, the seemingly endless list of those deseased, and it always seemed so unreal to me. I am fortunate enough to live in a country that is not torn apart by war and we also are fortunate enough to not have physical scars from many wars on our soil, but it is always important to stop and remember those from your family or others who fought and who still serve today in the hopes of finding peace. It’s important to not forget the sacrifices of our past and to think about what they were fighting for.

This week I wanted to share with you all some of my personal goals for this week. Last week was a hard week for me. I had a lot of health issues, so I went to the walk in clinic because my planter fasciitis was acting up and is just getting worse and worse to the point that now my knees are really aching. One trip to the doctor, a physiotherapy appointment, and a scheduled x-ray later here I am ready to get back to the gym and back to my goals!
- I really want to use my day planner better and I want to get a head start on some of my school projects
- I want to go for a run everyday this week! And not inside, I want to run outside. No more being a baby about the cold I will get out there
- I will get my budgeting under control and make a better plan for paying off debt (sorry dad!) Also no eating out this week (I will also limit my coffee out to just 2 times a week)
- I will keep my room clean all week. No more mess. And I will make my bed every morning.
- I will find a book to read for myself so I can read before bed (and I will be in bed by 10 every night!)
There they are. My lofty goals for the week! Mostly I want to get healthier, it’s so easy to be unhealthy while you’re at school because pizza is literally so accessible. And everywhere.
